Advancements In Brochure Printing
Brochures have traditionally been one of the most essential promotion tools for any business. They can be kept on store counters, distributed to spread awareness about a firm, or even posted to prospective clients. The need for brochures and their bulk printing has led many printing services firms to dedicate themselves to this market. Brochure printing has undergone a series of advancements in recent years, with the dawn and widespread use of the internet heralding the most recent of these developments.
Until just a few years back, computers were hardly involved in the brochure printing process, which took several days, working with film negatives or plate-making machines and needed multiple test prints, rounds of fine tuning etc. Even in design, the clients could not offer detailed inputs and the printers mostly shouldered the design task, working with a restricted set of pre decided templates.
Now, however, brochures are designed, transferred to the printing company, and edited on computers, usually by the customer himself, and the final product is supplied to the client within a much shorter time span. Technology has progressed far enough to make 24 hour printing a reality, enabling any quantity of prints to be supplied to the customer within a single day.
It is important to remember that brochure printing involves not just the impression of ink on paper, but design, content creation and formatting as well. With the advent of digital technology, printing companies have begun to offer a clutch of advantages to the customers in this area, like high quality colour printing, multiple options in complicated layouts and designs, and impressive packages on content-building.
Clients nowadays usually prefer colourful brochures and digital brochures from the newest types of brochures offered by printing services companies. These are usually suitable for brochures which will be distributed from medium to long-term. Dazzling and eye-catching but brief brochures are suitable for limited circulation in large quantities, which are printed through a restricted print run. Off-set printing, which is a comparatively older method, is still the preferred choice for these brochures as although it takes a longer time to prepare the brochures, a huge number of copies can be printed at one go.
Along with the enhancement in the quality of printing, additional services are now offered by most brochure printing companies as well. These are services like design, direct mailing, circulation etc.
Perhaps the most significant advancement in brochure printing has been the internet, through which clients look for and access printing services, place orders, check out templates, and choose the configurations for the print order. Hence, brochure printing has undergone radical transformations in recent times, and the possibilities of further change seem to be endless.
